Dolpo Region

In the upper part of western Dolpo district, Nepal, Dolpo region is a high altitude and culturally Tibetan region. Phoksundo Lake and Mugu Karnali Valley are situated in the northwest and the sixth highest mountain in the world Mt. Dhaulagiri (8172mtr.) is located in the southwest of this area. Dolpo region is home to some of the highest villages on earth, nearly 90 percent of the region is located above 3500mtr. It's one of Nepal's least densely populated area. There's a longer route for tourists who can't get enough of Dolpo's adventures and cultures that takes them through several villages. This is an opportunity for travellers to immerse themselves in the history of Himalayan journeys.
