Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

As soon as your plane hits the tarmac of Tribhuwan International Airport, TOP OF THE WORLD ADVENTURE offices representative and driver will be on standby to meet and greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel for the 6 days tour in Tibet to Lhasa. The representative will help you check into your designated hotel, and after going to our rooms and refreshing ourselves we will be briefed about our daily activities. The rest of your time is free to move around the neighborhood and get familiar with your surroundings before you go on 4 days adventurous tour in Tibet with TOP OF THE WORLD ADVENTURE.

You fly to Lhasa after breakfast and meet the rest of the crew members who will also be joining us for the trek. You need to be prepared for the next day’s trek

Today after breakfast, you will visit the most famous Potala Palace according to the time of ticket and in peak season, there is a visit time limitation. Potala Palace is the winter palace of the Dalai lama. It has been put into use since the 7th Century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet. In the afternoon, you will head to Jokhang Temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Outside, you can see pilgrims making prostrating in front of Jokhang Temple. Around the temple is Barkhor Street, where you can do Kora with pilgrims and locals and explore the old market.

After breakfast, you will leave for Drepung monastery, located about 10km to the north of Lhasa. Drepung monastery is one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet with Sera Monastery and Ganden Monastery. In the Afternoon, you will visit Sera Monastery, another one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet, home to over 600 monks. The hot attraction is the Monks debate at around 3 - 5 in the afternoon from Monday to Saturday.

Today, you fly back to Kathmandu after our short tour. You can rest and relax throughout the day at our hotel or get in touch with your loved ones. In the evening you celebrate our successful journey to Lhasa and back with a farewell dinner by TOP OF THE WORLD ADVENTURE
